The Internship at the Heart of Learning

At the core of Big Picture learning is the internship. The internship is a relationship that can lead to deep learning. Advisors and parents strive to match a student with an adult mentor. And good learning happens.

Part of our aim at Big Picture Education Australia is to highlight some of these internships.

We have published three new videos of internships from students at Canberra’s Wanniassa School.

For Brodie, the internship is ‘life changing’. Not just good or interesting or fun, but ‘life changing’. More often than not, that is a very very good thing.

For Emily, the internship has intensified her learning journey. It’s probably going to be good anyway and now it might be even better.

Brad changed course. He has re-connected with life and learning. He knows how to be around adults. He takes on challenges. He has a plan.

These are big changes. But, don’t take our word for it: Have a look at the videos on the Big Picture site and hear from the people themselves.

The internship at the heart of Big Picture learning it is a two-way street: the learner learns and the mentor learns too. It’s a win-win.
