Becoming a School Coach: Going Deeper (NSW)

The work of a Big Picture Learning (BPL) School Coach is complex. It takes time, patience, support and practice to create, nurture and sustain the necessary understanding, capabilities and skills.

This is BPLA’s second course focused on school coaching. It builds on foundational knowledge from the introductory course and explores the possibilities and tensions that emerge in the task of implementing BPL when maintaining fidelity to the design over time. The course investigates adapting to the inevitable local constraints while at the same time taking advantage of the opportunities available in each context.

The course will be led by John Hogan, Jacqui White and Ann Hill.

Who is it for?

This is an invitation to those who have completed our course - The Work of a School Coach: An Introduction to continue their journey learning about BPL about schools, about change, about coaching, and about yourself.

While the course will be of interest to anyone working in a BPL context, it is an essential requirement for those who are currently BPLA School Coaches or considering or preparing for the role.

What is involved?

• A 4-day face to face workshop in Sydney
• 2 x online workshops at a later date

Dates

Workshop: July 8th – 11th 2025 (week 1 of the July school holidays)
8.30 for 9.00 am start and finish at 4pm.
Location: Level 8, 8 Central Avenue, Eveleigh NSW 2015

Two Zoom Workshops: semester 2 [Days/dates/times TBD by group]

Members of BPLA: $1200 plus GST
More than one person from member schools: $1000 plus GST

Additional costs for travel, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of participants.
