We are excited t o offer this opportunity to senior advisory teache rs and school leaders to work collaboratively to b etter understand the possibilities of the senior y ears.

This workshop\, run by Big Picture School Coach Brooke Burns\, is designe d to enhance the implementation of BPL and the IBP LC process throughout the senior years.\n \n

The 5-day workshop will comprise of a d eep dive into key elements of the Big Picture Lear ning in the senior years which will include the:\n \n

Senior Project
Aut obiography
Post-School Project
Social Action Project
Digital Por tfolio
Video Profile
Other Qualifications

\n \n

Ongoing eleme nts of BPL - such as Learning Plans\, Exhibitions\ , Internships\, Narratives\, Learning Goals - will be referenced in how they both support and enrich the student work and learning.

\n \n

For each element\, we will consider: \n \n

Core structure of each element
Ways of developing them both for teac hers and students
How they link to wor k that students have done in previous years and to work that they may wish to do in the future
How each may manifest in a variety of ways to act as evidence of student achievement to suppo rt teacher judgements
The roles of the student\, the advisory teacher\, and school leade rs in supporting and challenging students.

By the end of the five days\ , participants will:

Understand the key elements that make up the seni or years
Have explored different ways of working through them with students
Have a clear plan for working with students to con nect their experiences and work to their digital p ortfolio
View the digital portfolio as the essential connection and collection point for students to show what they know and can do
Understand that evidence can manifest and be presented in a variety of ways
Apprec iate that the rigours and high expectations that e xist for all senior school students in BPL remain anchored strongly in interest connected to the rea l world.
