Board of Directors

BPEA was established by a dedicated group of Australians who understand the importance of re-thinking the way we "do" schools.

The BPEA Board consists of the following directors:

Viv White

Viv is BPEA Company Secretary. Before taking on this new assignment, Viv was CEO of the Victorian Schools Innovation Commission (VSIC) and the Australian National Schools Network (ANSN). She is currently based at Victoria University where she continues to utilise her twenty-year history of international work in educational reform.

Bruce Kiloh

Bruce is BPEA Public Officer. Until recently, Bruce was the Assistant Regional Director for the Western Metropolitan Region, Department of Education & Training in Victoria.

Susan French

Susan is the principal of St John's Park High School and a Board Member of the Australian National Schools Network (ANSN). She is a senior executive member of the Australian Education Union (AEU).

Joanne Roberts

Joanne is Principal of Ascot Vale Primary School, current Board Member of Victorian Curriculum Authority and past Victorian State Coordinator of the Australian National Schools Network. She has worked in both Primary and Secondary sectors of education in Vic schools.

Dr Andrew Bunting

Andrew is the BPEA Chair and a Principal Director of the Architectural Firm Architectus. Dr Andrew Bunting is a director of Architectus, an Australasian firm of architects. He has had a long involvement with the promotion of education projects within the practice. He is the former President of the Victorian Chapter of The Council of Educational Facility Planners (CEFPI) and a committee member of the Victorian Branch of The Australian Council for Education Leaders (ACEL). He was a former member of the Steering Committee for the Victorian Schools Innovation Commission. Andrew holds a Doctorate in Education from The University of Melbourne and is a former teacher and university lecturer. Andrew was awarded a Fellowship from ACEL for his work in the education sphere and is currently an honorary Senior Fellow within the Education Faculty at The University of Melbourne. Andrew has written articles and spoken at conferences on the topic of school design. In 2006, in conjunction with iNet, he led a tour of schools in the USA for Australian school principals and leading teachers.

Keith Reams

Keith is a client services principal of Deloitte’s Global Transfer Pricing Group and the Service Line Leader for the Asia Pacific Region. Mr. Reams is also the Lead Economist for the Pacific Rim and the practice leader for Deloitte’s Transfer Pricing Group in San Francisco.

Chris Bonnor

Chris Bonnor AM is a public education consultant and advocate. He is the co-author (with Jane Caro) of *The Stupid Country – How Australia is dismantling public education* published by UNSW Press in 2007. He has served as principal of two secondary schools in NSW and until 2006 was President of the NSW Secondary Principals’ Council. He is especially known in the education community and occasionally to the wider public through published articles in newspapers, various online publications and through media commentary on education issues, especially as these relate to public secondary schools

Big Picture People

Big Picture Education Australia is supported by a dedicated team of people around Australia.

John Hogan

John is one of the co-fouders of BPEA and is engaged as a School Consultant. John has extensive experience, expertise and training in consulting, coaching and supervision; action learning and group work; strategic and project planning, curriculum development; and research and evaluation. John runs an education consulting business, Redgum Consulting Pty Ltd.

Joe Wickert

Joe has a long history in educational multimedia and communications. He works with Summer Hill Media, the Australian National Schools Network and handles communications, media and publications for BPEA.

Sara Wickert is responsible for the financial administration and membership management for the BPEA. Her education background is a unique combination of an undergraduate degree in French and English from University of Sydney and a Masters of Business in Accounting from UTS.

Peter Flynn is a experienced filmmaker and writer. He works with Summer Hill Media and handles communications, media and publications for BPEA.

Interns

Oliver Reams is a student at the Met Sacremento and is currently interning with Big Picture Education Australia. He is working closely with Viv White and the media production division.
