“I support the network because they offer such a relevant approach to education. Big Picture has helped my son feel like part of something and given him direction in life. I’ve been really happy to be involved in Kyle’s schooling and I love seeing his presentations and portfolios.”
“Our school joined because I want my staff to have access to the best thinking about education from around the world. We get that with Big Picture Education. We also get discounts on Big Picture services and training.”
“I watched students slip through the cracks over the years, not caring about what they were doing and not prepared for life after year 12. I was searching for a better way for students to learn and found it in Big Picture. Now I’m a member because I want to be part of the solution.”
The Big Picture Learning Design is centred around student passion and interest.
Small advisory classes build a learning community inside the school. Internships engage the community as mentors.
Projects create rich learning experiences and real products.
Assessment by a public exhibition lets students demonstrate what they have learnt
Big Picture Learning began in the USA in 1995 and has since spread across the globe.
Big Picture Education Australia was established in 2005 as a not-for-profit company. Over 40 Australian schools in urban, regional and remote communities work with us to implement the Big Picture design for learning and school.
