A community of learners

We build-in adult world immersion-learning. Each student works two days a week in an interest based internship with a mentor from the community on an intellectually rigorous project connected to their learning goals. This is known as Learning Through Internship (LTI).

Parents and mentors and any other learning partners are encouraged to attend a range of school activities throughout the year.

Families play an important role in their children’s education and BP empowers them to take an active role in their children’s education They are integral to Big Picture Schools.

They participate in orientation meetings, help develop and review  ILPs (Individual Learning Plans) and attend exhibitions and a number of school functions.
