Big Picture 2015 National Conference and 10th Anniversary Celebration

An Invitation from Viv White (CEO and co-founder BPEA)

Colleagues, students, friends...

Big Picture Education invites you to our wonderful national event in Newcastle in September.

Our National Conference and 10th Anniversary Celebration will be led by our wonderful students, advisors, leaders, parents and community members.

There will be:
  • Guest speakers
  • Reports on our research
  • Information about the launch of our new venture - the Big Picture Learning International Network
  • Workshops (e.g. on Leaving to Learn work and Project Based Learning)
  • Activities
  • Student work

We ask you to register as soon as possible so that we can begin the personalisation of the program based on your passions, interests and needs. This is a key design element of our conferences - you are the leaders of the network and have so much to share.

As you register please identify what you would most like to hear about and discuss, what you may be able to offer (e.g. presenting, acting as an advisor, running a workshop) and what your school and students would like to share.

I have met some fantastic young people yet again on my most recent visits to schools. Just this month I met a young woman who has set up an enterprise online to connect Big Picture students all over the world to do joint projects out of common interests. We have two folk singers performing and hopefully a talented flautist from Launceston.

There is a keen interest from advisors to dig deeper about developing processes to build the National Curriculum into Project Based Learning which starts with student interests. As we have done a project with ACARA on this, many of our group have lots to share.

Please me if you are not sure how you can participate but feel you would like to. Don't be shy - every time I walk into a school I see wonderful professionals wrestling with the design and finding amazing ways to deliver for young people.

Spread the word - it is for all people interested in one of the most amazing innovations in education.
