Participants will learn about the Big Picture design for learning and will be introduced to the BPLA Distinguishers which set out how to implement the design.
The course will also explore Personalised Learning Plans, Projects, Learning Through Internship, Assessment via Exhibition, the Credential Pathway for senior students, and building the culture of an Advisory, which is the basic unit of a Big Picture learning community.
This Foundation Training will be held across two locations which showcase Launceston Big Picture School & Hobart City High School - Big Picture.
The course schdule will be as follows:
- 27th - 28th May: Launceston (4 Invermay Rd, Invermay TAS 7248)
- Afternoon of the 28th bus as a group to Hobart
- 29th - 31st May: Hobart (228 New Town Rd, New Town TAS 7008)

- schools interested in implementing a Big Picture academy on their campus
- teachers interested in teaching in Big Picture schools or academies
- teachers interested in embedding BPLA distinguishers into their practice
- educators interested in learning about BPLA design principles from an advisor/teacher perspective.
It will be a fabulous opportunity to meet, network and learn from advisors from other Big Picture schools.
